Tell us about Herons Park: I’m Hannah, the wedding coordinator at Herons Park- the venue is a new contender in the Kent weddings scene! We opened our doors after a major renovation spanning 2016-17. Liam (my now husband) painted the entire venue and I chose the furniture/colour schemes throughout. The first wedding here was our own, after ten long years being engaged we thought it only right we kick-start things with our own!
What unique features does your venue offer couples? The venue has a maximum capacity of a whopping 300! It can also be perfect for an intimate wedding, too as the venue is separated into different areas- the main wedding breakfast room, conservatory, children’s play room, pool table room, snug area, main bar and cocktail lounge! You also have use of a beautiful grassed area and terrace overlooking the lakes.
We only ever hire the venue for exclusive use – and no back to back weddings here!
I am on hand throughout the planning process and will source suppliers, help with your budget and coordinate your whole day – you have the continuity of the same person from your first enquiry to the big day!
Can you have a legal ceremony at your venue, if so tell us about the options if not? Not yet! Watch this space as we will be looking to get licensed very soon!
In the meantime we have a beautiful wedding arch available to hire so that you can have a blessing of your marriage outdoors or in the conservatory.
Do you have a favourite wedding that’s been held at your venue? I’m not allowed favourites! In all seriousness every single wedding is so special as it’s a very humbling feeling that they’ve entrusted you to run their big day and chosen our venue, when there are so many venues in the area… It makes me cry every time I see the bride arrive! By the time their wedding is here they feel like friends and I’m overjoyed to see them on their big day.
What exciting things do you have planned for 2018? Getting our license to marry here (hopefully!). The diary is filling up now and we are excited by all the unique ideas our couples are coming up with. We also look forward to hosting more wedding open days and meeting new couples.
Can we stay overnight? Yes, we have a beautiful bridal suite available to hire for your wedding night and bridal preparations on the day of your wedding. We also have three luxurious bell tents available to hire and a camping field with pitches for 53 tents! How about a festival wedding!
Can we choose our own caterer? Yes, we are not tied to any caterers – we of course have caterers we recommend, but if you’re wanting something ‘out of the box’- a fish and chip van, Deli truck serving pulled pork rolls, BBQ, afternoon tea served on vintage crockery, or perhaps even freshly made pizzas fired before your very eyes then we can point you in the right direction of someone to help!
What are your package prices? We don’t have a million packages, just one clear-cut price £2,550 for 2017 and £2,850 for 2018/19 this is for exclusive three day hire and includes:
· Access to set-up the day before your event and the day after to take-down
